1The Aims
There is a great demand of MIS personnel in various levels of police forth. The department is the only institute under the supervision of the Minister of Interior to cultivate police officers mastering both in police operation and information technologies. The department also has established a graduate program to train advanced police MIS personnel and to do research in police information system technologies.
The researches are mainly focused on two area, namely the information system technologies to support daily police operations, and the reengineering of the information workflow of police information systems. The former aims at providing field police officers with handy information services, while the latter to improve the efficiency of police information processing.

Currently
the department has 8 faculty members as listed below:
5Employment and
Graduate Studies
All students will be employed and work in the MIS division of various level of police forth in Taiwan as soon as they are graduated. Since every student earns a bachelor in management, they are eligible to pursue their advanced graduate study either in a domestic graduate program or in a foreign graduate program.
The faculty members are very active in research. The department is awarded more than 3 million NT$ research grant from National Science Council and other government funding agencies. The department aims at to established its leading position in various aspects of information management researches, particularly with emphasis on the following areas: Policing Information Technology, Computer and Cybercrime Investigation, Information Security and application.
